How to Get an Indonesian Driver's License in Bali

If you are planning a long-term stay in Bali, then you may consider getting a driver’s license so you can ride around Bali with no worries. Are you wondering if you, as a foreigner, can get an Indonesian driver’s license? Yes, you can! As long as you meet all the requirements, you will be able to obtain an Indonesian driver’s license, also known as SIM (Surat Izin Mengemudi) in Indonesian.

To get your driver’s license, you need to go to the Denpasar Police Headquarter (also known as ‘Polresta Denpasar’) on Jalan Gunung Sanghyang No. 110 Denpasar, by bringing the required documents for your driver’s license application. You can apply for it by yourself, but it may take quite a lot of time. So, if you want a faster yet easier application, just leave it all to Driving License Bali. How to Get Your Driver's License in Bali with Our Assistance

  1. Contact us at least 1-2 days before your application date, by filling in the form below.
  2. Once you have finished filling in the form, we will send you a confirmation email.
  3. Prepare all the required documents for your driver’s license application, which includes:
    • Your passport.
    • The copy of your passport pages containing identity information, visa, and entry stamp.
    • Your KITAS or KITAP and its copy (not mandatory with our assistance).
    • A medical note, also known as Surat Keterangan Dokter (not mandatory with our assistance).
    • Note: If you apply for more than one type of driver’s license, you have to make separate copies for each license, as it is counted as a separate application.
  4. We’ll meet you directly at the Denpasar Police Headquarter (Polresta Denpasar) on Jalan Gunung Sanghyang No. 110 Denpasar. The driver’s license application section of Polresta Denpasar opens Monday to Friday from 8AM to 1PM. Don’t forget to bring all the documents.
  5. We will guide you through every step, and try to be nice to the officers during the application process.
  6. Your driver’s license will be issued within an hour. From now on, you don’t need to worry anymore about getting pulled over when riding in Bali.
